Ken Burger from Charleston’s Post and Courier newspaper published a nice article about why South Carolina doesn’t allow Dolphins in captivity. South Carolina is the only state in The Union with such a law, which is why there no dolphins in the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston. Visitors to the Aquarium are invited to look out into Charleston Harbor to see the wild dolphins. The can frequently see them. Riders on the Dewees ferry, however, are much closer to the water and get a much better view of the dolphins.
