The birds of the impoundment got a treat today (as did the birders) when easy prey was struggling along the surface.  A wide assortment of gulls, roseate spoonbills, herons, egrets, ibis, and storks were seen along the edges of the impoundment.  There were occasional squabbles, as well as over-ambitious birds, like the gull above.
