I’ve been looking for the great horned owls all summer. I haven’t seen them since the babies fledged this spring. Last year we often saw one in the early morning on the dead tree to the north of Huyler House Walk. Not this year.
Today, however, I heard from Tom Jenkins (of the Anderson clan) that he spied one this morning. He had his camera and big lens with him. He fired away while stalking the owl through the marsh. Tom’s a great photographer. I hope he got a good shot. Maybe we’ll be treated to it at the next Dewees photo show.
