Check the Tidal Pools

When you walk on the Dewees beaches, be sure to check out what’s in and around the tidal pools.  You can find amazing stuff.

This year, we’ve found live baby’s ears, moon snails, sea stars (called starfish in decades gone by), horseshoe crabs, mud crabs, brittle stars, sea cumbers, and much more.

If you find something and you don’t know what it is, be sure to talk to the Nature Center staff about it.  You can bring it by the drop off tank or take a picture (may cell phones have cameras now).  The staff is great and very enthusiastic about everything you find.
