“And that’s what Simple Folk Do!”: Camelot comes to Dewees

Jane Savage again led the Dewees Players (anyone who wants to be in the play, and a few who don’t but can’t say no) in a Summer Solstice performance.  This year, the house was packed: Standing Room Only!!!  So, a hearty thanks to those of you who were in the audience.

The cast did rehearse several times before donning costumes and belting out lines and solos from the musical on the porch of the Savage House, and there was lots of laughter as we learned the lines from the adaptation of the script by Carroll Savage.  Carroll starred as Arthur this year, alongside David Smith as Lancelot, Jack Saueracker as Merlin, Judy Fairchild as Guenevere, Bob Drew as Pellinore, Ginny Moser as Nimue, and an entire cast as shown here:Camelot cast

The humidity was down, the tide was high, a supermoon was rising over the ocean while the sunset on the day after the longest day of the year lit the marsh with golden light.  And grandchildren with their parents and grandparents watched and played, laughed and sang, and enjoyed the company of neighbors.  Huge kudos to Jane, who manages to keep us all in line, with our lines, to provide an evening of hilarity in a spectacular setting.
