Annual Fish Fry a great success

It’s one of the things that makes Dewees such a wonderful community to be a part of– gathering for a meal and some fish stories.  Inspired by late island resident John McLeod, the fish fry has become an annual gathering before Thanksgiving to celebrate the bounty of our local harvest.  Bill Easterlin and Henry Savage prepared their secret fish recipes, frying loads of fresh, tasty fish and hush puppies.  We could choose either style or enjoy both.  Bill also prepared some delicious venison tenderloin, Tom Sanders made his incredible fish chowder, Anne Anderson and Ginny Moser made both kinds of clam chowder, and the food was fresh and local.  We are so thankful for this warm, welcoming, talented community!
