Wishing all the best to Joe Ruskauff

Joe, lending a hand with the kids upstairs

Joe, a deckhand on the Dewees Ferry, has decided to retire after more than 12 years on the Dewees staff.  We will miss his thorough follow-through about ferry passes, his cheerful greeting, and his ample assistance when we had lots of stuff aboard.

Joe has decided he wants to do more traveling with his wife Sheila, and we are thrilled for both of them.

If you are in the area, stop by tonight at 5:00 at Morgan Creek Grill to wish him well.  We’ll have some snacks and nibbles and there will be a cash bar.  You can email Joe at jandsruskauff@bellsouth.net. Click here for a video slideshow.

Happy friends on the boat!

I believe Joe was the longest serving Dewees Island POA employee. Does anyone know who the new leader is?

    Joe,
I enjoyed our brief chats over the years, you not only are always friendly, but you seemed to remember me too. I hope you and your wife find some great hiking trails and who knows, we might bump into each other on a trail!

    Best wishes

I will miss your smile and pleasant greetings whenever I arrive at Dewees. I hope you and Sheila have a wonderful time traveling and visiting friends. Good Luck and God Bless

    Reggie,

I think Captain Rick is the longest serving.
