Here’s a photo of our staff members last week assessing the performance of the latest tool being used to keep the impoundment healthy.  This huge pump was rented last week when the barge was coming over, and every minute it pumps 600 gallons of oxygen rich water from the outside of the rice trunk to the inside.

Dissolved O2 levels are up, there are no dead fish, the water level is higher, and the impoundment seems healthier.  Bravo for this solution– we miss the awesome bird action, but we are thrilled to see the impoundment functioning so well.
