On the morning of 5/30 we found that the sand under Gary McGraw’s beach walkway had disappeared. A guest at Gary’s house confirmed that the sand was under the bottom step the day before. The high tide that came with the full moon on the night of 5/29 showed once again how dynamic beaches are on barrier islands. McGraw’s dock is roughly in the middle of the front beach and is a good barometer of the erosion and accretion on Dewees Island.
