If you find an interesting creature on Dewees, you are welcome to bring it to the drop off tank any time day or night. Later you can ask the Naturalist or Intern what it is. You might find out that you’ve found a horse conch or lighting whelk. please do not leave oysters, whelks, bait fish, blue crabs, or jellyfish in the drop off tank.
The drop off tank is located on the second floor of the Landings Building, just to the right of the door to the Nature Center. Here’s a picture of the drop off tank.

This morning, Ted found and dropped off a sea star and a moon snail. For those over 12, a sea star is what used to be called a starfish. Since it isn’t a fish at all, the name was changed. Here’s a picture of the sea star.
