Hope for the Dewees Front Beach?

The photograph below, was taken at low tide on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from the corner between the North Beach and the Front Beach looking south towards Wild Dunes on the Isle of Palms.  It shows a large sand bar that is connected to the front beach.  A small gully pierces the sandbar to allow water through.  If this sandbar shifts so that it welds onto the front beach, there’s a possibility that Dewees’s Front Beach will start growing again.

Notice the person standing on the sandbar.  The person provides a sense of scale.
